  -- 10/11/06..No.[60]

The 5th International Teaching Games for Understanding Conference
(July 14th-16th 2012,at Loughborough University,UK)

The conference is aimed at researchers, teacher educators, teachers, coaches and students, and will include research-based oral and poster presentations, practitioner presentations and practical workshops.

Loughborough University is universally recognised as the founder institution of TGfU, making the University, the birthplace of the TGfU model, a very fitting venue for the conference.

TGfU is a student-centred approach to games teaching which focuses on individual, social and contextual processes.
It was developed with the purpose of enhancing teaching, coaching and learning in games, encouraging the development of intelligent and creative young games players, and making games inclusive and enjoyable for all abilities. This was in response to concerns that much games teaching was dominated by developing techniques, at the expense of games knowledge, tactical awareness and decision-making and skills in context.
